If the first day of our Store Closing Sale is any indication, then it's a slam dunk that everybody loves a good funeral! The turnout was nothing less than phenomenal . . . I'd give you a head count but I'm not sure that I can actually count that high. It's safe to say that there were hundreds of people here when we opened the doors.
We did twelve and a half times times the number of transactions that we normally do in a day and the average transaction was two and a half times our norm. The end result is that our net sales on Thursday was more than our net sales for the entire month of February or March or April.
A TV news reporter showed up to ask a few questions about what factors led to the decision to close this ministry. At the end of the interview, he asked to what we attributed the huge turnout? "It was simple, " I explained, "we did our part and God did His part." Isn't that always the case? The problem lies when we don't do our part.
It will be a few more weeks before this funeral is over and we've finally laid Crossroads to rest but we hope the celebration continues! We grieve the passing of this ministry just as we would grieve the passing of a family member or close friend but we celebrate all that God has done through Crossroads over these past 7+ years and what He has in store for us next.
