Art in unexpected places

I appreciate art most when I find it in unexpected places. I did just that  recently when I spotted it in the form of a quilt pattern painted on the side on this barn on winding mountain road near Fontana Lake in western North Carolina.

Or in the form of this star made of split rails nailed to the side of this farm house just down the road from my father-in-law's house at Sam Cove.

But no art is more beautiful than that which is created by the hand that spoke the world into existence.

What can man create that can compare with a mountain brook tumbling over moss-covered stones?

Where do you find beauty and art in this world?
